A Bit About Me…
Hi! my name is Gabriella Antonietta Edwards. I was born in America; however, did all my K-12 education in Sardegna – an Italian Island in the middle of the Mediterranean. My maternal nonna was the og Antonietta, and it’s from my mother I get my Sardinian heritage. As if Sardinians aren’t mixed enough, I am also half African-American, and part Native American of the Choctaw clan!
Once I hit puberty, I began to feel out of place and showing symptoms of depresison and anxiety like as many of my peers. Through self-help books, videos and lots of meditative prayer and reflection, I thank God I was able to pull myself out of the dark cloud and step into who I was meant to be. My passion for personal growth and wellness began to flourish as I began to grow and change from the catapillar to the butterfly.
For a much-needed change of pace and opportunities for growth, I moved to Michigan for College, pursuing a degree in Psychology and Nutrition. I am now working towards becoming a Therapist, incorporating a holistic approach of nutrition & mindfulness for overall well-being. This journey has been significantly healing for my inner child, and inspired me to give to others the resources for personal growth and community I so desperately sought growing up.
This is the core of Mind-Soul-Nourish, a space where I share all the things I’ve learned in life from wellness & personal growth to spirituality. I aim to create a sense of community to us young adults who (especially since covid) seek genuine connections with likeminded individuals. And this is what made the MindSoulNourish blog & the Flourish community.

We’ve come a long way since my first lifestyle blog, EllasDolceVita, back in 2016—a space where I shared glimpses of Italian culture, slow living, and everyday joys. What began as a personal creative outlet has now blossomed into MindSoulNourish, a comprehensive wellness platform rooted in holistic living, faith, and personal growth. Today, it’s more than a blog—it’s a space that honors my Sardinian roots, shares soulful nourishment for mind, body, and spirit, and fosters a growing community built on intention, compassion, and connection.
What is MindSoulNourish?
MindSoulNourish is a wellness and lifestyle blog dedicated to helping you flourish—mind, body, and soul.
I share easy & healthy nutrient-dense recipes & authentic Sardinian meals, holistic tips for mental and physical well-being, and how to make things from scratch! Whether it’s making your own oat milk, fermenting homemade sodas, crafting natural body butters, or crocheting cozy sweaters, the goal is to empower you to live intentionally, sustainably, and soulfully.
I believe that wellness doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated. By honoring ancestral wisdom and embracing non-toxic living, we can nourish ourselves while caring for the Earth, our bodies, and our communities.

In a series called “Sardegna Amata”, i will be sharing cultural, historical, and travel logs of my homeland of Sardegna, Italy.
The Flourish Community
Flourish is a nonprofit community in Detroit rooted in holistic wellness, faith, and creativity—serving through group events, helping the homeless, and park cleanups led with compassion in motion.
Beyond the blog, MindSoulNourish is also the home of the Flourish nonprofit community, a heart-led movement rooted in holistic wellness, faith, and creativity —helping people flourish in mind, body, and soul through events, community, & service.
Flourish is made up of three core branches:
- ✨ Flourish Creative Wellness – A space for artistic expression, personal growth, and holistic well-being. We host free events like arts & crafts nights, guided yoga, creative workshops, and more.
- 🕊️ Faithfully Flourishing – A faith-based community supporting spiritual growth and Christ-centered friendships. We gather for Bible study, Book club, and overall faith-filled connection.
- 💚 Project Flourish Detroit – Community volunteers who help the homeless and conducts park cleanups, serving with compassion in motion. (learn more)
All Flourish events are free and open to all. Small donations are welcome to help us keep the mission going. 100% of donations go towards funding events & outreach.

In a world of overpriced health trends and toxic ingredients, I aim to draw inspiration from Sardegna’s Blue Zone and the way our ancestors lived (slow & intentional, nourished by real food, and guided by community) to share holistic wellness practices that are easy & accessible.
Ultimately, to create spaces where we can all flourish together.
